you vs. europe
you vs. the world
you vs. the web
concept
my versus the world selfportrait looks like a regular portrait from afar, but when you look closely, you'll find that it's made out of hundreds of ants. i believe that when you look at the world from above, we all look like ants and we all look the same. but when you look closer, you'll see that the ants are all an individual part of something. i feel like i am just one of the ants on the anthill of this world.
the versus europe selfportrait i made, consists of all the european countries i ever visited. they made a certain impression on me and those countries are all a part of me. i made them out of iron wire to symbolize the strict borders of the countries.

my selfportrait of me versus the web is a collage of the random things i found when i searched my name on google.
- the hair is made out of lists of names where i found my own name as well. one is from a list of graduates from high school and the other one is a list of contest winners on the website of a radio station.
- the grey dots are from the first corporate identity i ever made. i found it in a prezi presentation i made years ago which i had apparently made public. the blue circle belongs to a different prezi presentation that solely consisted of this blue circle and nothing else.
- the bar over my eyes is the screen i found when i went to my facebook page without being logged in. i wasn't able to see the page, which means my privacy settings on facebook work very well.
- the lips are from a fineliner portrait of a singer i once put on deviantart.
- the headphones refer to a review i wrote about them for the website i bought them from. you could win a 100 euro gift card if you wrote the best review of the week, that's why i did it. i actually won the title of best review of the week a few weeks later.
- the collage of colorful photos are mostly concert photos that i took and uploaded unto deviantart and one photo of me (which is the only photo of me that i could find on the internet)
