in the making

i thought about 'dutchness in rotterdam' for a while and what it means to me. i believe 'dutchness' is about the past, the present and the future. it's a process. it's something that has been developing since the beginning. it's not just the stereotypes of clogs, tulips and windmills, it's the every day things as well. things you miss when you're in a different country. i wanted to capture this not only through my photos, but also through the camera i'll be making the photos with. that's when i bought a konstruktor camera at the lomography store in amsterdam. a clever little package that consists of everything you need to build your own 35mm slr camera within an hour or two. this package fits perfectly into my idea of 'dutchness' because of the process and developing of the camera and the photos.
